Pilots Loss of Licence Keyfacts Summary

Significant features and benefits 

Underwriters may pay the insured a benefit in accordance with the policy schedule in the event of the Insured having his/her licence(s) permanently revoked by the licence Issuing authority during the policy period as a result of accident and/or illness as defined in the policy wording.

Temporary total disablement
This benefit pays to the insured monthly benefits of 2% of the total sum insured each month after expiry of the waiting period for a maximum period of 24 months in the event that the Insured is temporarily entirely prevented from acting in the capacity for which he/she holds a licence(s) as a result of accident and/or illness.

Waiting Period
No benefit shall be payable until after a waiting period of 90 days from the date of loss

Significant or unusual exclusions/limitations

Exclusions:
We do not cover any claim caused by or resulting from:
• the death of the Insured
• intentional self injury, attempted suicide or assault provoked by the insured
• venereal or other sexually transmittable diseases
• any criminal or felonious acts of the Insured Person
• undertaking active duty with the armed forces
• Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
• an act of war or terrorism
• any previous disability or medical condition
• changes in the medical standards imposed by the Licensing Authority

Limitations:
Underwriters may pay 25% of the benefit to the Insured in respect of Classified Illness as follows:
a) consequent upon the influence of alcohol, drugs or narcotics OR
b)   the insured suffering from stress, anxiety, depression, mental anguish, neurosis or the like.

Duration of contract
The period of this contract is 12 months.
 
Claims service
You must make a claim by notifying us in writing as soon as possible and in any event not later than thirty days from the date of unfitness as a result of sustaining personal injury or the manifestation of illness.
